“What do you wish for?” Support the women of Eastern Congo!
March 21st, 2009
The women of Eastern Congo have been living a war for over 15 years. The loss of loved ones, violence and having to flee their homes have shaped their daily lives. But there is hope in the future. These women speak out and tell what their wishes are for their futures.
Support these women on Condition:Critical website: tell what you wish for them!
Your Flash Player is too old. Please download the new version here!
The point of Condition: Critical is to give a voice to the people of Eastern Congo and we need to make sure as many people as possible are listening to what they have to say.
So, in support of the women of Eastern Congo, we are inviting you to send a message to these women, by making your own video or by posting a comment on Condition: Critical, stating what you wish for them for their future.
You can post your video to the ‘What do you wish for?’ facebook page or upload it to youtube (just tag it congowish). We will then feature selections of these videos on Condition: Critical.
You can comment on any video on Condition: Critical, facebook or youtube or you can send a message of solidarity to these women by commenting on their video.
Once you have posted your video or comment, share it with your friends. Add it to your blog, your facebook or bebo profile and tweet it. Even taking your laptop and showing your friends and family your video, comment or the Condition: Critical site helps spread the word.

To all these truly beautiful, strong , brave and amazing women ….. my heart goes out to you all.
You and your families have the right to expect security and safety in your homeland. To be able to live without fear and needless suffering , to have the means to look after your families and to enjoy equality.
The world would be a better place if it was run by these wise and intelligent women. Surely it is time for them to be recognized as the pillars of their society that they truly are.
(What a wonderful job MSF is doing in providing them with a voice on an international platform). These are real people and their stories are important and memorable!
I am overwhelmingly moved by their courage and their plight.
As a mother myself , living in a country where the equal rights of women is simply expected, and where there is no concern for being able to care adequately for our children,
it is impossible to fathom that there is such inequality and suffering for so many mothers and their families.
I wish for them all PEACE, HEALTH, SAFETY, HAPPINESS and EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
Now more than ever I will continue to support MSF in their struggle to assist these people in their fight for a better future.
