Desde noviembre hemos estado oyendo disparos dÃa tras dÃa. Pasamos muchas noches escondidos entre los matorrales y fuimos perseguidos por grupos armados que saqueaban y destruÃan todo lo que tenÃamos en nuestra casa. Por eso huÃmos y nos establecimos aquÃ, en el campo para desplazados internos de Nyanzale.
Un dÃa volvà a nuestros campos, cerca de Mihara, para conseguir comida. Allà dos hombres intentaron violarme. Al principio me resistÃ, pero me golpearon con palos hasta que quedé agotada, y luego me violaron. Vine a tratarme porque tenÃa miedo de estar infectada. Ahora tengo miedo de explicarle a mi marido que me han violado. No sé ni como empezar a explicárselo. Tengo miedo de que me castigue.

i wish, the men, your husband can, under the grace of God, listen to you, accompany you in your suffering…You shouldn’t feel guilty for this and no husband and no man should shun you because you have been raped. You did all you could to defend yourself. You have nothing to be guilty about. You are a child of God. And God loves you. May God Almighty protect you and keep you and convert husband’s attitudes towards women who are raped.
May Jesus-Christ heal you and strengthen you in these horrible events you are living.
